The Flight of Nature

"The Flight of Nature," a new collection of hangable sculptures that explores the profound connection between humanity and the natural world, particularly focusing on all living things that take flight. While the title might initially suggest a direct depiction of animals, my intention is to spark a broader conversation about our shared responsibility and impact on the fate of all flora and fauna.

A significant aspect of this collection is the deliberate choice of materials, aimed at highlighting how our material consumption heavily influences the delicate balance of nature. All flying creatures are crafted from wire with a black gloss finish, which I chose because it strikingly resembles ink strokes. Each creature sculpted from this wire is designed to mimic the spontaneous scribbles by young children, symbolizing that the fundamental education about sustaining our natural environment must begin with our youth, as they are truly paramount in shaping the future of nature.

I believe this collection offers a unique perspective on environmental stewardship and hope it resonates with you.
